Bachelor of Engineering (Civil), University of Auckland
Diploma in Computer Integrated Manufacture, Manukau Institute of Technology
After training as a civil engineer at Auckland University, Dev struck out on a uniquely varied career path. He worked as a fraud analyst at a major bank and developed his own electronics business, before taking up roles spanning design and construction observation, and project management.
Underlying his diverse career is a fascination with design and implementation; taking an idea from concept, through refinement, and into reality. Dev always views projects through the lens of what will serve each client best, drawing out their wants and needs and then working to ensure all contributing parties come together to deliver on the project goals.
Passionate about making a difference, Dev enjoys getting to know people personally and professionally. His engaging and attentive approach gives him a natural ability to build trust and resolve conflicts, bringing disparate views together to achieve great outcomes.
- An ability to use design thinking that incorporates stakeholder and end user input to change the way projects are delivered

- The understanding of constructability - acting as the bridge between designers and contractors, to ensure both are working in alignment towards a common objective
- A strong IT and electronics skillset, utilising technologies such as BIM to aid in project delivery
- A positive attitude and willingness to always give things a go
- A sincere desire to get to know people, understand their drivers and find out what makes them tick
In His Own Words
"It's a privilege being able to help clients achieve extraordinary things. My role is to help people realise their potential, and ultimately surpass their own expectations. I love seeing everyone walk away satisfied, knowing that what we've achieved will continue to have real impact in the years to come."
Northern Canterbury Transport Infrastructure Rebuild
This project was New Zealand's biggest infrastructure rebuild following the 2015 Kaikoura earthquake. Dev's primary role was to oversee upgrades to the amenities areas along the State Highway, with the goal of increasing the safety and usability of the formal and informal stopping areas. This role saw Dev offering his expertise in concept and detail design, including conducting 12D modelling of road and rail alignments.
Veros Property Partners - Felton Subdivision,
This complex project saw Dev responsible for the construction, observation and design of all elements in this multistage subdivision, from scheme plan and existing landform to finished product. This included liaising with the contractor and client to ensure that the final product was up to specification, and met the local council requirements. The development was successfully completed and has become a thriving community area.
Classic Developments - Kennedy Ridge Subdivision,
In this role Dev worked as part of a team to transform open farmland into an 150 lot subdivision. This project posed significant challenges around a complicated rolling stormwater network, requiring ongoing negotiation between Council and client. Dev's team also designed the roading and utilities, and engaged and liaised with the contractors to successfully deliver the product.
JFC/Transpower - North Auckland and Northland (NAaN)
Grid Upgrade Project
In this role Dev served as an onsite Quality Assurance engineer, overseeing night shift works during the installation of subsurface 400kV ducted power lines at Ti Rakau Drive, Auckland. This project saw Dev responsible for maintaining and promoting safe work practices during winter night shifts, collating and assessing QA data, as well as ongoing liaison with Transpower's Quality Assurance engineers.
